At the beginning of the last century, six pioneers launched the Ski Club Arlberg in 1901. In 1903, Hannes Schneider revolutionized alpine skiing and founded Austria's first ski school. Today, the Arlberg ski region is one of the largest in all of Europe, connecting the towns of Lech Zürs, St. Christoph, St. Anton, and Warth with an extensive modern lift system.
